La Aurora Zoo, Guatemala City

(4.5/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web)
Come and see the animals at La Aurora Zoo, a large zoological park. Established in 1924 as part of a major regeneration project, the zoo has become a popular place to escape the city rush. Head to the African section to see zebras, lions, and buffalos, and spot three species of Asian monkeys, with howlers shouting at the overhead traffic from the nearby airport. Take a stroll through the landscaped gardens, relaxing under the shade of the trees, and head to the onsite restaurants when you're feeling in need of a meal. • My only baby was 4 months old. We were family, and spent it rebien. The animals are well taken care. Each time one can observe a veterinarian providing food or cleaning your area seating. Very clean zoo. Had hundreds of people and all with a smile on her face. Perhaps by the environment or by the echo see the animals but all very cheerful. When my baby is more fairly we will return without doubt them. I do not agree that are locked up but at least our children have the opportunity to meet them face to face, and as they are. Not how they present them on television that you can see a blue or pink elephant.

  • I had heard good references of this zoo, but to see it is much more beautiful than I could imagine. The enclosures of animals in their vast majority are large and props so they can be comfortable. The green areas are beautiful and very well-kept, health services to my surprise were extremely clean. It personal very friendly to the answer them consultations concerning them animals, the caregiver of the elephant very gentle in approach it so could see it closely. The penguins a tenderness and they give you a great briefing and to give you the opportunity to ask questions. The experience of feeding the wonderful giraffes and a good choice of raising funds. For foreigners who have no animals in our country is a great experience to visit a place as beautiful. For children there are fun games areas. They told me that in a few months night make Tours on Friday, so check before you go if you are interested. I'm going with the hope to visit them again soon.

  • Muy limpio y bien cuidado todo
  • Fantastic zoo and fun place to spend a day with the kids! I am impressed by the cleanliness, nice design, and evident good health of the animals. Good job Guatemala!!!
  • I am not a big fan of Zoo's to be clear. When I was asked to go to the Zoo in Guatemala City I was thinking no. I am glad I went. The Zoo is clean, well kept and with a different variety of animals then most Zoo's. Food courts, nice settings a great place to spend a day and enjoy the outside and lots of animals.
  • Beautiful zoo with tropical gardens and a lot of animals, if you had kids and have a long lay over in La Aurora Airport visit the zoo is aprox. 5 minutes by taxi, or 20 minutes walk. Better take taxi to not have to walk with luggage. The area has a Children Museum and Handicraft shops less than 5 minutes away.
  • Lots of empty spots..nothing impressing to see here other than a few exotic animals.
