  • The Church of Santo Tomas is a must-see in Chichi, in addition to its famous market. Within it converge the rites of the Catholic religion and indigenous celebrations, so it is very interesting to know it inside, and I hope when there are Eucharist. Indians are rather suspicious, so it is recommended to not take pictures inside.

  • Market at Chichicastenango, and Sunday mass at 8 hours. The square with its many markets is filled, covered with variety of flowers that have women. Upstairs, just outside the door, a shaman balance his censer in prayer. This is one of the few churches in the world where the Vatican tolerates this religious syncretism. Inside, the mass is brightened up by the powerful songs. Everything is broadcast on 'Sony' screens in remote parts of the Church. The maya population is concentrated and fervent.

  • An interesting and historical church in the heart of the town and middle of the market, where Mayan and Christian cultures and traditions mix.
  • Magical place
  • Very authentic place where Mayan traditions meet Christian ceremonies
  • Mass spoken in Spanish and K'iche.
  • A place that no one should stop visiting, this is the true living culture, share with the Quiches (Maya in the region) the goes and comes from its market even with bartering and living presence of the dancers around one church, people, culture, gastronomy, colour, life... that is GUATEMALA
