  • There are two Choco Museos in Antigua, one to the east of the Central Park and one to the north of the Central Park as you head towards Santa Catalina's arch. Dual locations made it impossible to walk around Antigua without popping-in for samples at least once per day. While we didn't do any of the tours/workshops, it was fun to watch the employees creating chocolate delicacies at the front of the shop. Both locations were unfortunately out of stock of the chocolate peanut butter spread we came for, yet we still managed to walk away with various chocolate goodies, including hot chocolate, chocolate bars (including a peanut butter kind), and chocolate soap. We highly recommend stoping in for the free smells and samples or to purchase some chocolate souvenirs. There is also a cafe located in the courtyard of the shop, perfect for a Maya chocolate! ~Theresa Atkins, Central America Vacation
  • The class was very interesting with loads of info, but the chocolate itself did not have very complex flavors..
  • The actual chocolate musuem where they make it is a few blocks away. But here you can sample a vast variety of raw chocolate products like tea, liquor and truffles! Staff are really welcoming and friendly who will talk you through it all - English available. There are also plantation tours available and a workshop 3 times a day to make your own chocolate! The smell will entise you in... worth a visit!
  • Fun class if you have a couple hours. You will learn how chocolate is made, from bean to your mouth, then make some molded candies!
  • The name may be confusing for most, Choco Museo is not exactly the point of this shop. What they are most famous for is Chocolate Making Classes. Which includes a great and informative class about Chocolate and the related history to Guatemala. You need to book on-line or call ahead for classes.
