  • Great time, easy route, it takes just closed shoes to down to the river and back up to the waterfall. Water cool, but very nice and original to bathe in the middle of the forest!

  • Is no longer an easy family hike. A large number of landslides of landslides make the dangerous journey. The path for access to the river is no longer visible, we must commit to a steep, slippery slope to reach the river. A Board well locate the path by which you went to when you want to go back. Down to use both hands, so avoid ports of children or coolers.

  • GPS coordinates: 16 ° 02'45.9 "N 61 ° 42'15.4" W duration: 2:00, including swimming - cost: free the Matouba water jump is a beautiful waterfall surrounded by lush vegetation. To get there, take the path that starts in a banana plantation. The hike itself is not very long (2 km AR). However, once the plantation behind us, the trail becomes narrower and passes through areas of landslide. Even sometimes, it takes stepping over fallen trees cluttering up the trail. There was once a staircase and railings in wood who was leading at the edge of the river St. Louis. It is now a thing of the past. The path now leads to an area of scree. The place is really very steep and slippery. During my research on the web, it was stated that could help a rope. We have not found it. However, we have cling us to a tree branch down the tier and we had to then use a long vine (rather dry) to the edge of the river. Afterwards, simply move to the right along the river. The waterfall is near. However, to reach it, he must walk on rocks that can sometimes be very slippery. When finally we get in front of this waterfall is a reward in itself. It is carved out of the rock and is surrounded by vines and ferns. The décor is really enchanting. The color of the water is turquoise and the water is so crystal clear you can observe a large number of fish. You can swim in the pool. On the other hand, it is not recommended to do near the waterfall due to the risk of vortices. Back, the rise of the Screes area was rather difficult because the ground was very slippery and we realized that the vine was broken partly. We have even been able to use it to help us get back on the trail. However, he had to be very careful because we didn't know if she was going to hang in there! If you do a search on the internet with my nickname Southangelvideo, you will find a video of this tourist attraction as well as several other videos on Guadeloupe as well as several other destinations.

  • Too hard to find and reach :(
  • Very difficult access (because of multiple successive cyclones known Guadeloupe) with landslide and trees in the way. But worth the effort because the site of the waterfall itself is very beautiful and very wild. Attention, on the end of the route of access, you have to go up the River about 100 m about and therefore almost obliged to put the feet in the water.
