Coast along Route de la Traversee, a well-maintained tar road that cuts across Basse-Terre and offers spectacular views of Carribean tropical forests. Although the road is not very long, it does offer a few places to stop along the way. Get out to explore the national park, hike at Maison de Foret, and enjoy a picnic and a dip by the river. Be aware that the road is often wet and should be driven with caution.   • Not too sure why this road gets such a good rating as an attraction. This is a very fast short cut across Basse Terre and would make for a very interesting journey in rush hour traffic if you have a n...  more »
  • Not obvious for tourists with vehicles that go well up the sides but very nice dry weather! You can't avoid it if you spent great land to low land. It's faster!
