Cascade aux Ecrevisses, Parc National

3.5
#2 of 12 in Nature in Basse-Terre Island
Swim in the cool waters underneath Cascade aux Ecrevisses. The waterfall itself is pleasant, but small and not particularly noteworthy. However, the pool below is rarely crowded, and swimming in the cool waters amid the sights and sounds of the rainforest can be a surreal experience. If you're looking for an adrenaline rush, you can jump off the nearby rock faces into the pool, but watch your step on the slippery rocks. After your swim, follow a nearby footpath to reach a quiet picnic area next to the river, where you can dry off and relax. • The site is beautiful and very very easy to access, so a lot of people! Since you have to walk less than 5 minutes on a pretty path of pavers, c is a busy site! We went there around 4 pm impossible to bathe and even less to take a picture! On the other hand, I advise you to get there early around 7:30-8: 00 (what we have done so! We went there!) and there, superb, we were alone we really enjoyed the place! So the water is in the vicinity of 20-22•c once inside we're super good!

  • When you take the road to the crossing, so cross the national park and this activity is easy to find. On the other hand, it is true that if there is of the world, it is not easy to park. On this site you can visit the craft shop and loved local products manufactured with the coconut. You can access the waterfall, there are signs of information in French and Brail. The course is very well laid out and secured. The waterfall can bathe, but watch out for pebbles that are slippery. Back, just across the road, down the stairs and we have access to a lovely area for lunch. It's nice and it's at the edge of the water. We can continue its way while walking in the Park, but there is more route. A really nice place that I recommend in good weather in Guadeloupe. In January, we had rain every day for 15 minutes.

  • Quick stop at the waterfall, quite friendly as landscape. You can swim attention cold waters.

  • Super chill! A bit crowded sometimes, but hey, you can't blame them, swimming in a waterfall under a verdant tropical canopy is so life-changing that everyone has to experience it. Although the name would lead one to believe that the place is crawling with crawfish, I personally did not see a single crustacean.
  • Beautiful scenic little waterfall! Be sure to go on a warm day and bring your bathing suit.
  • Pretty waterfall with a nice pool to swim. Easy to access though I wouldn't go out of your way if you are busy.
  • Easy and nice for kids and families. GREAT picnic places but no food there. Bring your stuff.
  • The waterfalls are beautiful and it connects to a river. You can enter the waterfall or the river. The Rocks are very slippery and there aren't many safe guards in this respect (ropes etc) so you are at your own risk.
