Concord Falls, Grenada

3.9
#5 of 15 in Nature in Grenada
See the cascading waters of Concord Falls along the Concord River, where you can take a refreshing dip in clear, cool waters. There are a couple of falls along the river. To see them up close, you'll need to trek to the lowest of these--a 30 m (100 ft) cascade--and pay a small fee to view the falls, as they are on private land. Go off the beaten track and extend the life of your excursion by trekking to see the 19 m (65 ft) Fontainbleu Falls; take a guided tour to ensure that you find them and pack a lunch or snack, as these are a little further out of the way. Locals discourage traveling to the falls alone, as theft and robberies have been reported. • We stopped here as a part of a tour....it was lovely and peaceful...so calming..many rivers and waterfalls in Grenada.  more »
  • We went to see this fall as part of a trip. Not too impressive. It cost 1 US to go see it. In addition, we were talking about the interest to swim. The interest has been lost could see the site. A waste of time. There are probably other things to show in Granada.

  • The Upper Falls are the way to go if you can walk through the woods. Vaughan at Tropical Adventure Tours is an awesome guide to use for this and other hikes/tours. Really loved the hike to get there and the pool we got to swim in under the beautiful falls.
  • It was beautiful, and the little shop there is lovely. However, they need to do something about the aggressiveness of the diver. We were with a tour, and it was explained to us that if we took pictures of him, we would be expected to tip. As I had no cash on me, I did not take any pictures. As I was attempting to leave the falls area to return to the shop (and then the buses), he ran in front of me and shoved the box at me and said, "Pay now." I'm sure I gave him a confused look because he said, "For the pictures, you pay." I said, "Oh, I didn't take any pictures, thanks," and tried to step around him. He shoved the box in my way again and said, "NO! You pay now!" Thankfully, the friends I was with saw what was going on. One of them came over and shoved some cash into the box and said, "There, now leave her alone! She didn't take any pictures!" Only then were we allowed to pass and reach the steps. Felt like a mugging.
  • Nice environment for various groups to visit, like a church group or a group of friends. It's just a breath of fresh air up there.
  • Short and fun hike to waterfall. Beautiful.
  • Beautiful area
