Specialty Museum
Situated in a 200-year-old blacksmith's shop, Qaqortoq Museum houses a rich collection of exhibits that tell the story of the old Norse, Dorset, and Thule cultures. Learn the stories of the distant peoples who lived in the area through the displays in several rooms, each dedicated to a single group. Among other valuable items, you can see traditional clothes, weapons, boats, and hunting equipment the people used on a daily basis. The so-called blue and red rooms contain the possessions of two great explorers of the north: Charles Lindberg and Knud Rasmussen. The museum often sets up temporary exhibits with works of local artists.
