It is unfortunately devoid of explanation on the spot, that's why I will recommend to people to learn about the site upstream in order to project themselves once on-site. The site is very close to that of Phaistos, the 2 are to do. The entrance fee is very affordable. There are also on the site a nice small byzantine Church.show original

Note a pretty little chapel of more recently than the Minoan site!show original
Nice to be able to wander around the ruins with only a few other tourists around.
