  • It is hard to imagine, but in the days of Turkish subjugation of Thessaloniki were Jewish city. Of course, as any imperial order more Balkan city he was pluralistic-Turks, Greeks, Serbs and Bulgarians. But particularly large Jewish community was destroyed during the second world war. It was huge, the numbers are amazing! Especially Sephardic. Not surprisingly, many mansions, buildings, villas built by merchants, traders and entrepreneurs of Jewish origin. Comes the awareness of how much we've changed the face of European cities after World War II, Jewish life has gone out of them. Interesting traces of the old Jewish quarters, rather small sledočki.

  • Small unobtrusive museum in ordinary Street. Is not on, and security is not hugely enamoured of tourists ... Unfortunately there is a lot of by the fire in Thessaloniki where lost; so museum didn't really have much showpieces. What a pity, since the high number of Jewish people in Thessaloniki.
