  • This church is very close to the Rotunda and is on the way up to the Ano Poli. It was 1st of January ad it was closed. Looks old from outside.  more »
  • It is one of the fifteen medieval monuments of Thessaloniki Pau joined to the list of UNESCO as world heritage monuments. Not unfairly. So long pass outside the Church and I didn't bother to go inside. Mega wrong! It is a beautiful Byzantine Church of the 13th century, with very beautiful and manicured courtyard. Located in the city center, a few meters away from the Arch. I think it is worth the epikeftei kaneis. When I went I was a very polite Lady (probably was guardian of the Church) which I solved some questions about the Church.

  • It is one of the churches of the world heritage site of Thessaloniki. Is a church located near the Rotonda, far less, but look interesting in world heritage churches like best. Beside the entrance to old wells? Are left. Mansion becomes background, view from municipak Street Graffiti Wall is a little disappointing.

The monastery was the spiritual centre of the 14th century and was associated with writing and teaching activity of two important Thessalonikian: leading scholars Hellenists Thomas Magister and Matthew Blastari. It has been speculated that the name Agios Panteleimon is borrowing from the North Chapel of the neighbouring Temple, which transferred the vessels of the Temple when it was converted into a mosque by the Ottomans between 1568-1571 called Isakigie Mosque (

If you come to Thessaloniki to splurge and pamper yourself, book a room at one of the city's five-star hotels, providing spacious rooms packed with amenities, as well as access to rooftop bars, ground-floor restaurants, and fitness facilities. Centrally located hotels also provide secure parking, complimentary Wi-Fi, and quick walking access to the city's top attractions.
