  • Amazing little 14-century Byzantine Church. Refers to the Vlatadov monastery. Located at the top of Thessaloniki, Ano Poli, near Byzantine walls, you need to go to the Hill, surrounded by a stone wall. In the Saturday morning none of the congregants was not, could calmly look at the miracle of magnificent frescoes preserved. The frescoes of the 14 century era Paleologus. Votvremja Turkish rule was not closed. Taking pictures is prohibited. Is well worth a visit.

  • Excellent example of Byzantine art and architecture, reminiscent of Athonite monastery or chapel. Causes and increases the religiosity of believers and non-worth a visit! It is a pleasant oasis in the bustling city. The best Church (with a difference) to celebrate someone in town the Max. Week and Easter.

  • The Church of Saint Nicholas orphanos is old Byzantine Catholic monastery in Thessaloniki and a world heritage site, built in the early 14th century. Located at the northeast corner of the old town, inside the walls, between the streets and Irodotou Street Apostolou Pavlou. The name of the temple, Orphaned or orphans, meets for the first time in sources of 17th and 18th century and coincides with the unknown owner of monument that belonged to the family of orphans or in operation at the site of the monastery orphanage, whether attributed to St. Nicholas as patron of widows and orphans. As the founder of the temple has been suggested by researchers the Nikon Skoyterios Kapandritis Orfanos, as well as the right of Serbia, Milutin that due to his marriage with the Princess Simwnida had close ties with Thessaloniki. The kiss of Judas in its current form, the Church is a single-Aisled Basilica with Portico on three sides, roofed with gable roof on the main space. From the murals, the erection of the monument is placed in the context of the Decade 1310-1320. H Abbey continued to operate during the Ottoman occupation. The particularly rich decoration toichografikos came to light in 1957-1960, during work on the monument, and is one of the most representative samples of painting the Palaiologan Renaissance. Worth the visit.
