  • Museum in the classic exposition, with beautiful pieces ranging from finds of early man, with flints, bones carved tombs and weapons to the Greek era, with pottery and classical sculptures, Byzantine, up to the Roman domination, represented by gold and jewelry, statues and mosaics. The most impressive things and narcotics are the masterpieces of Greek Roman Goldsmith.

  • The artifacts in this museum are well presented. Don't miss the tombs, they present a window into the ancient world.

  • Excellent collection - especially the "Gold of Macedonia" part was absolutely stunning... Liked the extensive descriptions, which helped to get a better impression of Macedonia's past...
  • The museum staff watch you like hawks. Massively over staffed. They are all really bored and love to pounce on you the moment you step out of line. Even if you so much as walk in the wrong direction. They never stop gawking at you like idiots.
  • Great overview of the city's and region's history. Very didactic exhibition. There is a combined ticket together with the Byzantine museum next door and the white tower that could be interesting of you are really into history and art. When it is really hot outside, the museum's air conditioning makes it a great option to cool down.
  • Great museum. Reasonable admission for 8 €. If you plan to stay in Thessaloniki for a few days buy the 15€ one, so you can visit tje archaeological the Byzantine and the White tower. After the visit there is also a coffee place outside the museum.
  • I had visited this in the '80s. Well, it should still be the most important museum of the city. A must-visit place for tourists.
