  • I had a really good there. A big and organised zoo, with helpful employees. I was able to see the feeding of some animals and the amazing dolphins show! Its easy to get there by bus. I strongly recom...  more »
  • Before the trip, has compiled a list of places that you would visit in Athens. However, the Zoo didn't like to go because he was "hell on the back of beyond". However, that day has come early in the morning to collect backpacks. First from the Center on the blue Metro station Doukisis branch. Near the station there is a bus stop "Doukisis Plakentias". 319 bus runs every half hour and the estimated travel time 20 minutes. The Zoo is located far away from the city and because it seems-you get really in kind of an oasis, where life flows on its own laws. outside of civilization. Ticket price: Adult-18 euros, child (up to 12 years)-14 euro. The Zoo has everything you need, because we can easily spend a whole day here. Zoological Park strongly actually surprised me, because here are amazing pets and are held during the day different activities: dolphin show, kormjozhka crocodile and hippopotamus, lemurs are waking up in the afternoon and you can play them quite vmestimom Aviary. Home Zoo. that's for sure! Here animals live on the full rasslabone, it seems. Penguins carefree chasing butterflies, chimps sing, turtle float blissfully in his green "soup". Place mandatory to attend!

  • Although i don't like the idea of captivated animals, this is a good place. Metro is not convenient to pay a visit but still you can get some buses from around the city and access this zoo park. A lot...  more »

  • Very nice place. We've been there with my kids 2 days ago. Easily reachable from Syntagma square take metro to Doukissis Plakentias from there bus 319 and step down after McArthur Outlet by 2 stations. Enjoy
  • Awesome zoo, very large and with a huge variety of animals. The spaces are trying to imitate the natural habitat that suits each of them. The restaurant is nice and has a view to the savanna and there are bathrooms and benches to sit to all directions so it's not a bad place to spend your whole day. You might kind of need it as well if you want to see everything!
  • The zoo is huge and amazing. Most of the animals have lots of space to run around in and they do seem well looked after. You could easily spend an entire day here. There are lots of picnic tables, snack kiosks etc. There's a playground and a well located cafeteria with a view of the "African Savannah". The marine mammals show is fairly standard for dolphin shows of this type. And now (Dec 2015) with the addition of elephants the zoo is truly complete. Cons- It's a bit of a pain to get here using public transportation but they have some sort of a deal with a taxi company to do pickups from Doukissis Plakentias Metro. Also, there aren't any "real" food options here, but you could go to the retail park nearby, or stick to the cafeteria food. (Edit: Summer 2016 meals are offered in the cafe) Opening hours are 9 AM to sunset every day.
  • One of the best zoo parks I visited, many birds I have never seen before... Park is clean and we had a LOT of fun. Recommend
  • Waste of money. Dolphin show was at 12 noon and 6pm. Lions tigers cheetahs Pumas bears were not even visible due to heat. Best time to visit is after 4pm or early morning on opening. Taxis from Athens cost around €80. Disappointed in the visit. Personally don't waste your time and money!!
