  • The Archaeological Museum of Sparta, although very old and forgotten, with obvious signs of the passing years is located in the Centre of Sparta. Although just outside is parking, don't prefer. Select a safe location, away from labelling ban. Moreover the distances within Sparta is so small. All around are fenced with Rails and the central entrance is from the Lycourgos. Located just opposite the Church of St. Nikon "metanoeite"-Patron Saint of the city and of course don't forget to visit. A wonderful park with fountain in congestion of the two attractions in cafes around for few minutes stop. In the other corner is the main square with several restaurants, the old city hall-lovely neoclassical building. The garden of the Museum is handsome and feeling make the headless statues that are in turn at the entrance. Because space doesn't have many exhibits, but those that are flying high and representative history. The bars of the fence because of the Museum's location-Central, is covered with protest banners usually, but the visitor must exceed himself and going inside to complete the intended visit. The Museum building is gorgeous. The Museum is an integral piece in the end of national pride and the processional of Saint Nikonos. The ticket is €2 and reduced €1. Free entry has: 6/3, 18/4, 18/5 last September and CRS course on public holidays. Works: 8-3 pm

  • Great museum, fun to visit and you learn about history.
  • With some interesting finds but inadequate descriptions and there's no toilet in the museum.
  • From a very early age children are groomed as warriors. They also study philosophy, history, literature, languages and strategic thinking. Tourists are warned to steer clear of children while they practice with swords and spears.
  • That place definetly is amazing!
  • Small museum with great mosaics and Spartan relics
