Create an itinerary including Agios Ioannis Beach
Relax on a picturesque beach and visit a charming church at Agios Ioannis Beach. The small seaside area, boasting soft sand and turquoise waters, is home to the impressive St. John on the Castle church, perched upon a craggy rock. Hike up the 110 narrow steps that lead to the church to be rewarded with superb coastal views. Movie buffs may recognize the building from scenes of the hit film "Mamma Mia." Step inside to admire elaborate icons and ancient holy objects. If possible, make your trip to the beach by boat to best appreciate its dramatic scenery. The walk up to the church involves some sheer drops and sections without a handrail which may not be suitable for those uncomfortable with heights. • After visiting the Agios Ioannis Chapel I pop down this beach. A nice but smallish sandy beach, with steep descend. The beach is just about 200 meters from the tavern, just follow the dusty trail...

  • Wild and nice beach with stones for jumping in the water. There is a small bar upstairs but the food menu is very limited
  • Lovely little pebbly beach that can get pretty intense waves when rain is out at sea. There are chairs to rent, and dramatic views of the "mamma Mia" church.
  • dont miss it! mamma mia! the winner takes it all.
  • You have to visit the little church at the top of the rock! Great place
  • Nice and quite beach. Every couple of hours boats disembark tourists to visit the church and the beach and it gets a bit crowded. But overall amazing beach. The pair of sunbeds and umbrella costs 7€.
