  • This is the right place for those who blame Evans. No changes have been made "improvements" and what you see is all genuine with restorations kept to a minimum is essential. What remains is enough to get a feel for a city that has more than three millennia of life, and is a spectacular city situated on a hill from which it sweeps with a view of a spectacular landscape below: those who lived here in the distant past were to be similar to divinity. Not to be missed!

  • September 2015 today Palace remains of ruins, but we can visit again the Royal apartments, the central courtyard and a tower. What is interesting is the history of the site: A first Palace was built and then destroyed by an earthquake. On its ruins was built a second Palace that was devastated by a tidal wave... During the excavations in the 20th century was discovered a clay disk covered with writing that has not yet been deciphered and unfortunately we could not admire it;

  • This is my favorite ruin to visit in Crete. The scenery is spectacular and the ruins are not mangled with like they are in Knossos. Absolutely worth a visit if you're planning on sightseeing while on ...  more »
