  • Great location with views of the Messara plain and the psiloritis mountain massif. I was after the main season there, relatively early in the morning, so I was almost alone on the grounds. The system is much smaller than Knossos, but better I liked. The system is less crowded, more clearly, and also relatively good museums worked. On the basis of the panels you can get a good overview without leadership, although the previous guided visit to Knossos has sure helped the orientation. Relatively few parking spaces available. There is a very close equipped museum shop and a snack with other museum shop (much larger selection). Admission after the season just 4 EUR - this absolutely worthwhile.

  • The entry is relatively expensive (€ 8 / person), is expected to see a site well preserved, well signposted and with information allowing us to travel in the time... and not at all! -No paper provided, no hearing aid, few signs with summary explanations that don't learn not much - rough concrete restorations, and one third of the site is closed for works - people "who are" the place are a species of noisy family who speak so loud that even at 50 m in the middle of the ruins you will hear them. As explained by others, if you just want a nice picture not worth spending the cash, to the right of the entrance you have a beautiful view of the entire site and it's free!
