  • In the Church of St. Nektarios stopped the family after visiting the Park «Seven sources». Distance from Park to Temple around 4-5 km. Parking (free of charge) is located on the right side of the road. The temple is located on a hill on the left. Below the temple is situated small cafes, the source of holy water and a huge platan. They say that it is the oldest tree on the island of Rhodes, comparable in age to the famous tree of Hippocrates on the nearby island of Kos. Inside a tree hollow. Inside the hollow cave can accommodate about a dozen people, and raising his head, can see a kind of window into the sky. In the center of the source water has a white plate, which in Greek is read equally both from right to left and in Greek: "washing your hands and face, take care about the purity of his soul (Anagram is at the entrance to the Saint Sophia Cathedral in Constantinople). Here you can type in a bottle of holy water. To get on the temple grounds, you need to enter the gate and climb the stairs to the hill where the temple and belfry of white brick with accents of red. Very beautiful temple! Inside the temple you can, like everywhere else, leave donation, take the candles. It is believed that Saint Nectarios has a special gift to heal cancer patients, drug addiction and alcoholism, as well as helps with money difficulties. He was born into a poor family in Thrace 1 October 1846 the year (had the name Anastasius). At the age of thirty years, he took the tonsure and changed his name given at birth, on Church-Nectarios. However, the Saints Nectarius was found much later. November 8, 1920 year in Athens hospital after a long illness (cancer) Nectarios died. In this same hospital was the first miracle-sweater that nurse withdrew to nearby and Nektarios bed where you lay the patient paralysis, issued a wonderful fragrance and paralytic cured. This fragrance is not held for a long time, so in the room where the body of miracle worker, staged a chapel. The second miracle happened three years later, when by tradition was opened the coffin and relics Nektarios remained imperishable. At the moment these relics are kept in the Temple of the monastery. St. Nectarios was canonized in 1961. and listed as a Saint. November 9 is the day of memory of St. Nectarios. This day comes a lot of pilgrims. The temple was open until 19-0000.
