  • A must to visit to experience the history of the culture. Very moving Museum. Spend some time just sitting in the Synagogue and feel the peace and tranquillity. Small shop but well worth a spend.
  • Situated within the walls of Rhodes, have been built for Jews fleeing the Spanish Inquisition and persecution in the last quarter of 16TH century and is the only existing on the island. Inside has the geometry of the synagogues with four columns and the ' tevah ' of prayer in the middle. Unusual detail are some paintings on the walls. Next there is a small museum evoking the Holocaust of World War II.

  • The synagogue is certainly interesting but it is mostly the story of what happened around this synagogue and the island itself this synagogue, one of the oldest, gathered many faithful, hunted by the Spaniards, so much so that Rhodes was considered the little Jerusalem this until it was organized a mass deportation of the Jews of the island the synagogue is well preserved

  • The oldest synagogue in Rhodes, what remains, revisited and restored, of the glories of a past of ancient Sephardic community (which Rhodes grew to up to 6000 people came to have a rabbinical school important enough to deserve the same Rhodes on behalf of little Jerusalem). Our luck, experience we are jealously proud, was to meet Sami Modiano, one of those people who experience in life has made strong as the Oaks, beautiful as diamonds. 96 years all Registry Office of course, but who spoke to us was that 13-year-old boy snatched from his childhood and cast in the horror of war: with its tale of the Jewish community, deportation in concentration camps, with his explanations of the synagogue and Jewish culture, rituals and gave us one of the most beautiful and unforgettable moments of this trip.

  • Unfortunately my experience there, I was 2 times by visiting the island, and we have the doors closed. E'ramos at least 200 people, and every time 'the same, that DESILUSIO' happened N! I can not understand, nobody understood ', as leaders or administrators of a synagogue with so much history and scale, may not be able to keep the temple open for those who come from far away, with the desire to visit it, and not will give us a chance. I think it is a total lack of responsibility, respect and gentleness for those who made the effort to get.!
