  • The Sunday stroll in nature met the adventure! Small Canyon with very dense vegetation. Wear athletic shoes, your good mood and enjoy nature. If the river has risen unfortunately will not be able to reach up to the Lake but even then it's worth the ride. A few meters after entering the Canyon you will find space for picnics, a source for drinking water as well as the Church of St. Anthony, in the cave. It is worth to continue hiking (up to as many as you can) because the scenery is breathtaking. Take time to admire the nature and take lots and lots of photos. On your way back up to the Observatory to admire the view (worth). At the entrance there is a traditional Tavern (also called the Forest) with very good food, good prices and a small zoo with playground for the entertainment of children. ... and not only. Well spend.

  • Small Gorge, but very beautiful, with a variety of plants, birds, geological formations, with a small river to the crosses-has water almost throughout the year, except maybe towards the end of summer. You can go comfortably-with low speeds-or from Rethymno (road to Amari) or from Spili (road to Gerakari, turning early Patsos). At the entrance, in rock, meet the Church of Ag. Anthony (timeless place of worship). Ideal for a relaxing getaway in nature-and children-any time you visit. The one walks in the most easily, with properly fitting shoes, especially in spring and summer (winter wants a little more attention). Worth to climb the observation deck and enjoy the view. Kept – Bravo!! -clean and tidy and offers you the opportunity to sit down with your friends for an outdoor meal or to prepare BBQ, once there is adequate infrastructure or something ready and traditional in the nearby Tavern "Park".
