Paraschakis Olive Oil - Crete, Rethymnon

Great experience. We were welcomed by the Paraschakis matriarchy (mom and daughter), Greek/American folks with great humor. They give you a short tour which tells how olive oil production has changed over time (from donkey to Diesel engines to modern machines) and you can have a taste of their oil and also buy some afterwards. Informative and very entertaining tour. They made us feel very welcomed and it somehow even felt like visiting friends.

This is a must-do activity while in Crete. It was really interesting learning about the production history of this family-owned operation and how it's evolved. They also make a fantastic olive oil that's priced incredibly fairly. Tours with a taste are free and the woman who runs the show is wonderful and hilarious.

Definitely worth a visit if your in the area. The owners show you around the factory and the various ways they've made olive oil through the years. You can also buy there products at a good price.

I arrived at the factory and was welcomed by Brenda who is part of the family that runs the factory. She's a native English speaker who is willing to show you around the factory. This little guided tour is for free. I even tried to leave a little tip, but Brenda kindly refused. So a big shout out to this awesome place! Make sure you visit it.
