  • Our walk along the river Acheron, we started in the village Gliki, there are pointers to Acheron Srings. You can immediately log into the River, go against the tide and then return the same way, and you can hike a mountain trail to the bridge and go down already adrift to the starting point. We chose the second option and have not regretted! The bridge go 40 minutes, the trail marked. spectacular views of the River, the mountains. For comfortable movement along the River I would advise to be sure to wear shoes type of coral. Barefoot on the rocks walking is not safe. The water temperature at first (if you go from the bridge) are pretty comfortable, along the way there are a few places that need to swim through (but we remember that we go with the flow and it's not difficult). Towards the end of the route there are springs from rocks and water is getting pretty cold. The whole trip will take you two hours. I advise you to visit this place, get a lot of emotions!

  • Leave the car in the parking lot of Gliki, where you follow the signs for Acherontas Springs. We decided not to take anything of what was being offered by sellers (kayaking, horseback riding, etc ...) and walk along the way. I recommend: NO flip flops! You can wear either a pair of old sneakers or slippers for rock. At one point the trail ends and you have to continue the journey into the river. In some places there are the Gorges where you have to dive to continue the journey, so watch what you carry (rucksacks, etc). Freezing water of course. Unforgettable experience! In my opinion a must if you stay in Epirus.
