  • Tried to visit this place, but could only see it from the outside as it was closed (even on a Saturday). We managed to get a couple of photos, and walked through the herb garden outside of the...  more »
  • What a delight this ancient monastery is. The frescoes are truly moving especially as they were painted in the fourteenth century. The expressions are hauntingly beautiful. The Church is small but so....  more »
  • Found close to the town of Potamies is the monastic church or at least the core remnant of the building, much of which dates back to 14th and 15th Centuries. We found it on one of our many trips out....  more »
  • Must go on 14/8 for a unique Greek spiritual experience. Bonus: you will taste sweet holy bread as a part of the ceremony. Afternoon of course.
  • I enjoyed my visit to this Monastery the setting was so serene and peaceful. The site has a great museum which has a brilliant set of photos from the villagers from 1940 right upto 1970s along with the religious artifacts you would expect. The young lady who runs the museum is very knowledgeable. The little church on site is amazing with the original painted Icons and you are transported back in time. After you've looked around the shop where you can meet Jorgos who is an artist who has renovated many churches. Then you can have refreshments and enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
  • Nice serene historic church which used to be a monastery. Nowdays you can find a little church, botanic garden and a coffee area. The church celebrates on 15-Aug when it is a great experiemce to join. This is a holy place so dress accordingly.
  • Very quiet and peaceful place. There you can find the old church 14th century with beautiful frescos. There you can get by Train Your from Hersonissos or other villages with are near by. Free entrance, toilet, cafeteria.
  • Was closed when I was there. Still was nice. Nice garden. Really nice garden. Old stone wine stomping place.
