  • Elegant small museum not far from the place where in ancient times was the main port of Athens (it is called Zea). The main thing in the collection is a collection of great Greek bronze statues preserved thanks to the occasion. In 1 BC and Roman dictator Sulla had planned the siege of Piraeus, and savvy Greeks buried several sculptures, realizing that they would be taken to Rome. What then happened is unknown, but the statues dug up only in 30-ies of the last century. Visiting the Museum the first Sunday of the month (from November to late March) for free. Normal ticket costs 4 euros

  • Although small, the Archaeological Museum of Piraeus sets out diamonds that will envy the famous museums of the world: a sensational bronze Athena, two magnificent bronze statues of ARTEMIS, apart from marble, ceramics and historical treatises. Unforgettable!

  • Few know it and even what few visit and it is a shame because it has awesome exhibits.

  • The museum has a 60s vibe but it has some of the most impressive bronze statues from antiquity I have seen. It is just a stone's throw from the port of Piraeus and you can see it in an hour. For the price of just 4 euros it's something you just have to see if you find yourself in Piraeus.
  • A wealth of artefacts - well worth the visit
  • The secret jewel of Piraeus ! Rare antiquities next to the ancient theatre of Zea. Where the history of Piraeus comes to live!
  • ancient greek art and mythology
  • nothing important, as the ancient history of Piraeus is either hidden under the buildings or has been transfered to museum of Athens
