  • "When you go Patmos especially for pilgrimages there is no case to kindly suggest to go to the monastery, after the cave of the Apocalypse. Serenity, Theos, and blessing. the Museum to see the exhibits. Go without thought; the road is accessible.

  • The first thing you notice on Patmos is the monastery of St John the Divine or the Evangelist. It's nice to be a part of history at least in this way...A trip for us who stayed at Samos who is worthy ...  more »
  • A hallmark of Patmos. Wonderful, magnificent, medieval castle-monastery with a rich history and religious spiritual value. Located on the highest point of the country and the view is unobstructed and stunning to the island of Patmos, the Aegean and the nearby islands. I admire the enormous walls that surround the monastery, the architecture of the monastery, the Church, the belfry, cells and the priceless treasures that are kept in the Museum. It is worth visiting the Museum, the exhibits are katpliktika (store and Byzantine Golden Bull island's concession, vestments, Gospels, byzantika relics, etc) and the symbolic price. It is necessary to visit the monastery to all visitors of Patmos, in particular to lovers of history and thriskeyomenoys people.

  • Nice view from the outside, even further up the mountain. Nice view.
  • This nice old place is really worth the walk up the old donkey path from town. When you get here you can enjoy the view and relax in a café
  • Moderately steep climb from taxi rank. Beautiful, minimalist, Greek Island architecture. The museum displays original El Greco. From Skala a public bus runs to Chora hourly: €2 per person one way. If there is a small group, I recommend a shared taxi from Skala port: Cave of the Apocalypse (30 minutes to explore), then the Monastery (1 hr to explore) and return to Skala. €40 per cab.
  • Perfect place to see the Patmos.
  • Beautiful monastery with an amazing view! Lots of important manuscripts in the Museum.
