Gorgeous archeological place / area to visit and explore. Birthplace of the philosopher Aristotle. I liked most the fact that you can literally explore and get to know many corners and places of the huge site.

The birthplace of Aristotle - ancient Greece philosopher and tutor of Alexander the Great - this archeological site is open for exploration (free of charge). One can observe up close the well preserved vestiges of ancient houses and roads, some of the as old as 5th, 4th and 3rd century BC. There is quite a bit of hiking involved, if you choose to go on the stone paths; even more so if you want to get to the top by stairs. But the place offers spectacular views of the sea, the island of Kafkanas and the neighboring village of Olympiada. The tour should take around 2-3 hours.
