  • the ancient Stagira is the hometown of Aristotle and it is well worth a stroll. the visit is quite difficult (from a physical point of view) but worth it.

  • The ancient Stagira is the city in which he lived Aristotle and where just recently seems to have found its home. Easily reached the archaeological site is accessible free of charge a small forecourt where you can park your car. The route runs in a series of Switchback trails through the vegetation, very nice and impressive is the panorama which can be seen from its Summit. The site is located on a promontory where on one side the town of Olympiada and the sea and the Bay of Stratoni. The latter was a bit disappointing because taken literally stormed by tourists especially from Eastern Europe, people stand quietly on the beach than in a small pine forest without controls resulting in lack of rules dirt and rudeness that reign supreme. A pity perhaps in the low season you can enjoy altogether with more tranquility. The site is well worth a visit if you're in the area.

  • The views from the hill are beautiful. There are also many small little beaches around it. This is a great place for a walk. There are also ruins located in a few spots, which are neat to see.
