  • Before travelling had already heard of this library and decided to go to Oia and visit it. Be pleasantly surprised by its design and its unique location. Even though it is small it is very picturesque.

  • Logically, everything will depend on the type of tourism that each prefers. My personally see me surrounded by tourists between narrow streets full of restaurants, shops, luxury homes and diverse establishments compels me to flee. Fortunately managed that escape my wife to one of the most beautiful libraries in which I have been. Surrounded by books in various languages, from economic releases to first editions of the most diverse authors (with their prohibitive prices), undoubtedly Atlantis Bookses a corner of peace and kindness. One can simply go to appreciate the beauty of the establishment and its measured disorder, and perhaps make a donation to exit, or venture out to buy some book and visit the gracious terrace (with very cheap books) that has at its top. A must-see if a bibliophile of any kind goes to Santorini, or a curious / who want to appreciate or support an enormously original and interesting project

  • If The Guardian has included among the 10 most beautiful libraries, there is a reason! The reason is that this library is a little jewel inserted between the usual souvenir shops and jewelry stores in Oia. The space inside is reduced but there is an air of culture in every centimeter! The terrace overlooking the magical Santorini, then, it's just the extra touch! It is a show!

  • It's a funky spot, and has some treasures like a first edition Hobbit gracing its walls. The selection is eclectic, but not what you'd find in a larger, more complete shop; it's more a place where you browse for what happens to be there than a place you can be fairly sure will have what you want. The staff suggestion/review cards often describe books no longer on the shelves. The markup on books approaches 50% of the suggested jacket price. Granted, it's Santorini, but it seems excessive. Check out the reading area on the roof for a nice view while you read.
  • This place was one of my dream places to visit so maybe that's why I was a bit disappointed. Not many books in many topics. But the collection quality was impressive. You can find here the 1st edition of the Little Prince book. The staffs were very nice as well!
  • A wonderful bookstore. Magic, a little like out of a HarryPotter movie, a little old archive, a little like you would immagine a bookstore in the fifties, a unique atmosphere which makes you wanna remain. Friendly, helpful staff, books in different European languages, new and old: you can find true bibliophilic treasures (!). Range goes from Platon to guides through the Greek islands, novels, history, mythology, ecc. We loved it and went twice.
  • It's cool, but more like a museum than a book store. The first editions are neat but prohibitively expensive. A variety of languages.
  • A book store like a book store should be. Great recommendations and truely inspiring. Why aren t more bookstores like this?

Where to stay in Oia

Oia boasts arguably the most unusual lodgings in the Cyclades, offering rooms in cave-like houses carved into Santorini's dramatic cliff faces. Converted into boutique hotels, these dwellings provide airy rooms with good natural ventilation, allowing them to remain cool throughout the island's hot summers. The western side of Oia offers the best sunset views, but you must book months in advance to stay there. The less crowded eastern side offers comfortable lodgings in reasonably priced apartments with private balconies and free Wi-Fi.
