  • It's a fun place to visit by boat, but not necessary to enjoy it. It is such a unique feature of the waterfront and so picturesque! probably the most photographed image in the area. Also a great place...  read more »
  • Akronafplia hangs directly above the Centre of the city, and its very colorful bastion Grimaldi meets the traveler directly at the bus station. Unlike the Palamidi, think, go up to it is not necessarily so as not to ruin a first impression. The fortress is very ancient, completely obvetŝavšaâ and looks much attractive from a distance than near.

  • Akronafplia (Constantinople its-Kale) is a rocky peninsula which was in ancient times the Acropolis of Nafplion. Located opposite the Bourtzi Nafplio and right at the entrance to the narrow end of the argolic Gulf. It is accessible only from the North by an artificial historical ravine called Arvanitia. The peninsula has average height from sea surface 45 m, maximum length from East to West 900 m and a width of about 400 m. Some parts of the walls of the City are cyclopean that formed the Foundation of the later fortifications which sections have survived until today. The view is magnificent both to the Argolic Bay and the old town of Nafplion. The visit is essential!! :-)
