Create an itinerary including Paraportiani Church
Arguably the most popular of the 400 churches on the island of Mykonos, features five whitewashed chapels built on top of one another. One of the Aegean's architectural highlights, the church stands out in dazzling white and provides a favorite photographic backdrop for the island's many visitors. Built in stages between the 14th and 17th centuries, the multi-layered structure's main feature is its domed church of the Virgin Mary on the top, which can be reached by an external staircase made of stone. At dusk the soft light of the setting sun creates good conditions for dramatic snapshots. • If you are in Little Venice it is worth seeking out the Church of Paraportiani if only to look at an oddity because this church is not just one church but five churches; with four churches forming...

  • An amazing place to chill and relax with the beautiful view. The place is less crowded during the afternoon but during sunsets and evenings its very crowded unlike the other town little Venice. Make sure u use the longer way of the old port road and avoid the aisles to get to this place. Recommend to visit here during sunsets. Couldn't make it up for one due to other commitments but would definitely plan for one in the near future.
  • Beautiful spot in the castle section of the town between the old port and little Venice. Nice spot to sit and relax went at least 7 times always closed and no info posted
  • Honestly, this is a pretty unimpressive site. By the 14th century, many nicer looking and more impressive structures have been built. Not worth the walk IMO
  • Our day trip to Mykonos during our Mediterranean cruise a few years ago continues to stand out in our family's memories. We enjoyed hanging out and swimming in the waters of Psarou beach. The sunbeds were relatively cheap compared to the others nearby. The food at the canteen-style restaurant Be Cool was just what we craved. This beach was perfect for a family with children. Not like the party beaches a few miles away. Walking through the town was quite pleasant, albeit hot as it was the middle of summer. The Windmills of Mykonos were lovely. Will definitely come back and explore more of Mykonos on our next Greek isles adventure.
  • Absolutely lovely church especially around sunset. I read this is one of the most photographed churches not only in Mykonos but the world! Is along the seafront just near the Kastro neighbouhood. It is a church that consists of 5 smaller churches built on top and next to each other over a long period of time. The church of Agios Efstathios is the center of this complex, surrounded by the churches of Agios Anargyros, Agios Sozon, and Agia Anastasia. On top of these four churches, there is the church of the Virgin Mary, which looks like a dome. Such a beautiful church and area at sunset, and a fair number of people around as a result, but still very worth while seeing.
