  • Yes, it's officially called a flea market according to the sign above the entrance. Yes, there's plenty of stuff on offer here - clothes, shoes, hats, bags, jewellery, and souvenirs are everywhere. Bu...  more »
  • Crazily busy flea market, great for a wander. An absolute kaleidoscope of colours and the noise and bustle are just invigorating. Loved the humour of the stall owners as they convince you to buy, push...  more »
  • The market of the fleas of Athens in the old district of Monastiraki is no big deal. There are many Chinese or other countries of the East and of dubious quality item. Local crafts also suffers from poor quality. It is only worth if you are looking for is price. Personally, I prefer the Andreanou street-markets.

  • They try to fix the place. It is very crowded and dirty and smelly. Good prices though.
  • Lots of stuff for the tourist to browse and buy home as souvenirs BUT make sure you compare prices here with elsewhere in Athens (probably at the less touristy areas)...you are likely to find better prices elsewhere if you are prepared to look around.
  • It's a must to visit this place .Don't rush in sitting in the first coffee shop explore the area tof find one of your taste. When buing a souvenir be careful to bargain! As far as concerned the antiques be careful have an independent advice from an expert especially on painting. There is a variety of shops. In the past you could find a bargain now days they go to collectors as in all flea markets.Good luck.
  • Very active and exciting part of Athens, definitely a must-visit. Avoid pickpockets and possible scam artists. Excellent food can be found in the center square!
  • Lost yourself here and enjoy looking the stores! But be aware of your personal belongings. Also, don't let some bad intention sellers try to give more expensive prices just because you are a tourist, negociate and don't buy everything in the first store you see, take some quick price research. The souvenirs are basically the same in every store!
