  • This beach is worth the look, but wins as we can read in several reviews, please see the Panel which is not so visible that it, it takes 30 minutes to climb and the same thing to go down, we had not planned to do, but curiosity prompted us to do in tong! I confirm, it's doable, but with sneakers, it's more comfortable

  • Years ago, this was a real nudist beach, today it has still very few nudists and those back at the beach, even almost only men... or maybe a coincidence was yesterday? The beach is still the same, unfortunately no concern anymore, it has only umbrellas.

  • The Red Sand Beach is accessible from matala on foot in 25 minutes! Takes to the slopes steep and not necessarily secure up! Not recommended for young children that might fall into the mountain... Wear good shoes and not the tong! The beach bar offers the best Mojitos of Malala! Very friendly owner and umbrella on the day for 2 euros! The beach is nice and clean generally sand not really Red Red rather orange...

  • A nice beach but you have a hike of 30 minutes over the mountains to get there from Matala. Best time ist late afternoon to experience the sun set.
  • Nice beach, to come there you go over the "mountain"
  • The red beach is not really red, more brown. The path is pretty dangerous without good shoes and pretty long. There is no toilet and now shower on the beach, just a little café. It was mostly disappointing. Buy you can take nice pics on the mountain path...
  • This Cove reached by 20-25 minutes walk from Matala is a Pearl set between headlands Cretans!! must be directed to the third place among the beaches of this beautiful island (after balos and elafonisi). Crystal clear water and sand tends to be reddish. There is a small bar serving water, beer, canned drinks and yummy mojitos. There are only 15 umbrellas so it is good to get there early if you want a bit of shade.

  • As has already been mentioned, the way to the beach just across a mountain is possible, which is quite difficult and is not worth the trouble. The sandy beach (with many large stones in the water) is also not red, if this should really expect. Also worth mentioning is here is a nude beach is. Very negatively noticed us is the owner or staff of the barracks. We had rented a beach umbrella, as offered by this, like for €2. This us however, failed because the dictator already has denied us before the end of the question one to rent, because supposedly no shield more available although more than 20 screens were visible in his hole. After 1-hour stay, we decided to break up. As adoption, there was then more insults by the Princess.
