  • Site interesting and which continues to be built. If the Museum offers many beautiful objects, especially the site itself that is interesting. Current excavations are also available

  • Was at Marathon on 9/11/14 to thank the Greeks for what they did there. The museum is near the Platean's mound. Was a lovely experience with a charming older gentleman who showed us around including the new building which allows you to walk over an excavation site on elevated walkways. The experience was quite moving for me when you know the history of the battle that saved western civilization, and proved a constantly squabbling bunch of Greeks in a new form of government could come together at a time of crisis when attacked by a dictatorship which always seems to strike the first blow. Thank you Greece.

  • When you visit Marathon, don't forget to visit the local archeological museum. Contains the trophy Egyptian battle of the statues and other objects that present the history of Marathon. Very clean museum and friendly staff. This museum is a bit small, but is impressive, very clean and very important. Don't forget to come here.
