Village of Lindos, Lindos

Categories: Ruins, Historic Sites, Tourist Spots
Inspirock Rating:
4.5/5 based on 6,500+ reviews on the web
A small town with a mix of rich history and sandy beaches, Village of Lindos was established by the Dorians about 3,000 years ago (though local legend claims the settlement was founded long before that by one of Zeus' divine sons). Although it contains an age-old acropolis, the town's main attraction remain its traditional whitewashed buildings and pedestrian-friendly backstreets. Pick up a free map at the tourist information center and take a self-guided tour through the narrow streets, lined by well-preserved medieval buildings and small taverns. Visiting beachgoers outnumber the town's tiny population in the morning, so wait to get some sand between your toes until afternoon, when tourist buses depart for the next destination. • beautiful painting in the open air, the most beautiful city of the island with old Rhodes. very touristy anyway, even in the prices. little shops on every corner along with a thousand restaurants bar, seems to walk in the alleys of a bazaar. in the evening the nightlife is on until midnight, then goes off a little, but there is no shortage of little bars. There are lovely beaches, including the wonderful Gulf of St. Paul, the Acropolis which itself maybe I was a little disappointed (dearest the ticket: 12 € per person, thieves) but the view over the coastline is stunning. prepare to cross a thousand cats in the narrow streets, with its needs scattered on the cobblestones. defects not enough to ruin the magic of the place anyway. highly recommended

  • Fantastic views of the acropolis. Close to the central street but far enough to be in a quiet neighborhood.
  • Most beautiful place on Earth.
  • Hot, but an awesome place.
  • Best place I've ever been to. No cars allowed. Donkey is the only means of transport.
