Village of Lindos, Lindos

4.5
#1 of 1,234 in Things to do in South Aegean
Ruin Historic Site
A small town with a mix of rich history and sandy beaches, Village of Lindos was established by the Dorians about 3,000 years ago (though local legend claims the settlement was founded long before that by one of Zeus' divine sons). Although it contains an age-old acropolis, the town's main attraction remain its traditional whitewashed buildings and pedestrian-friendly backstreets. Pick up a free map at the tourist information center and take a self-guided tour through the narrow streets, lined by well-preserved medieval buildings and small taverns. Visiting beachgoers outnumber the town's tiny population in the morning, so wait to get some sand between your toes until afternoon, when tourist buses depart for the next destination. • Incredibly nice to see Lindos, but it bears the stamp of having been a "tourist trap". Many shops and restaurants-great food! Pull down that it costs 12 Euros to get into in the Acropolis at the top, something you don't get to know before one has trawled up in the heat. It is the nature of good and is very greskt, warm and nice to swim! Have badesko on if you don't like stones. All in all get what a good character, but be forberdet that you hardly is the only one in the Lindos..:-)

  • Chicken and Bacon wrap fantastic. Frappe good. Slightly off the main Street so a little quiet which is perfect after a busy day at the shops. Staff friendly.
  • Great place at the heart of lindos very nice food the burger and the chicken wrap is highly recommended!!
  • Great cafe, nice breeze and chilly music. We had the vegetarian baggute and the waitress was careful and let us know what had cheese or egg in it just in case. The guacamole is highly recommended!
  • Very nice little café with green roof. The carrot cake can be recommended. Good but not daily fresh Baklava.
  • Best tuna salad and one of the best BLT sandwich I ate!
