Tour The Church of the Panagia to immerse yourself in the island's rich religious and architectural history. Encircled by high walls, the small church was first built in 1300 but has undergone a series of reconstructions and renovations throughout the ages. From the courtyard you can admire the building's tall campanile tower typical of churches in Rhodes, before entering to glimpse the colorful frescoes, wooden iconostasis, and chandeliers. While your eyes may be distracted by the elaborately painted ceiling, make sure to glance downwards to appreciate traditional Rhodian flooring, featuring impressive pebble mosaic work. Please note that photos of the attraction's interior are strictly prohibited. Plan to see The Church of the Panagia and other attractions that appeal to you using our Lindos trip builder.

  • Panagia of 14th century Byzantine Church located a few meters from the station of donkey taxis. The exterior is very simple, with white walls and many Orthodox churches of Greece and a high Bell Tower. However cross-domed interior is superb.
