Ruin Tourist Spot
Perched atop a rocky hill, Acropolis of Lindos represents natural citadel fortified over the centuries by the Greeks, Romans, Byzantines, and the Ottomans. Offering sweeping views of a small town's picturesque harbor, this important archaeological site contains remains of several ancient structures, the most notable of which is a Doric temple dedicated to the goddess Athena and dated to about 300 BCE. A monumental medieval wall surrounds this age-old temple and fortifications built by the Crusaders in the 14th century. The climb up to these ancient ruins can be quite arduous; you can make it a bit easier by arranging for a donkey ride up to the top. • Time passed, lots of nice story, so much culture, all that culture that gave rise to civilization today maybe we do not appreciate the value. Great place and worth a visit, too bad there are no guides on the site and everything is left to the free interpretation of the visitor ...

  • To visit in Rhodes and not reach the Acropolis of Lindos and is unacceptable! )) is the second most important Acropolis in Greece after Athens. The beautifully preserved. From the heights of the buildings opened magical sea views.

  • More than the Acropolis, four stones and some phony column rebuilt over the past three decades, fascinating are the castle walls at night, splendid views from below Giovannita with their lighting. Funny "Lindos taxi", the boarding of donkeys, misplaced the ticket €12 compared, for example, the cumulative ticket Museum of Rhodes €10. But the view, however, is worth the visit.

  • Fabulous views and so well reconstructed. A lot of archaeological work has been done over the decades. Sunset best time to visit. They do not warn you it closes at 7.40pm. So leave enough time to visit. Steep climb and not for feint hearted.
  • This place is absolutely astonishing. The city itself is made for tourists, a lot of shops, the houses look beautiful. I would recommend coming here in the evening, during the sunset. The sky looks really astonishing.
  • The view is spectacular. You can see the magnificent Lindos and parts of the coast line. The Acropolis itself was disappointing. You can only see old stones without a proper explanation. The entrance fee is quite high. Up to the top you can walk on foot or on a donkey. Sloping climbing slipping down
  • Fabulous views from the top of the Acropolis on Lindos and St. Paul's Bay. Entrace fee €12, quite high for the small site. Looks amazing from afar. The climb can be done on foot or by the Lindos taxi (the donkeys).
