Porto Katsiki, Lefkada

4.4
Backed by an enormous cliff, Porto Katsiki sits on a sheltered beach near Athani village. The name means goat port; legend says that only goats could reach the beach at one point. Now you can park on the cliff above the beach and take the stairwell down to sea level. Grab a drink or a bite to eat in one of the bars and canteens at the top of the stairs before you depart. Take a look at our Lefkada trip builder to schedule your visit to Porto Katsiki and learn about what else to see and do during your holiday.

  • Like beach is dream, don't even talk about it. That if you go Lefkada must go, of course, don't talk about it. What you need to know someone is that July-August there will be infinite world around him and little space to aplwtheis or to swim. Shallow no classics like almost all beaches "looking at" West. Finally there is difficulty enough to Park, and although there is a private parking, prices are incredibly high.

  • Porto katsiki is a beautiful place, too bad it's mobbed by hundreds of people who want to enjoy the beautiful sea and entertainment of the cliffs. The beach is pebbly and there are no parasols talking lie on the best way to see this place is from the sea with an inflatable

  • Stunning view with turquoise water at the foot of the cliffs. The beach is rocky and some footwear is recommended even in the water. The waves can be quite strong and the water deepens quickly so not the best destination for beginner swimmers.
  • Really not sure where this beach receives its eminence from, since it is solely accessible via a thin, windy and frankly dangerous road along the West coast. After reading that this beach was "the best in Lefkada... if not Greece" we felt compelled to visit and see what we thought. We got in the car, not knowing what we were in for... The thin, twisting road snaked around the west coast of Lefkada, ascending into the mountains and meandering back down to Porto Katsiki. It was sickening to say the least and very stressful to drive down. When we arrived, we were astonished by the beauty of the beach and the surrounding cliffs, as we were for most of the beaches we visited on our holiday. Ostentatiously kicking back into the plush opulence of a sun lounger, I enjoyed the view of the crisp blue water against the sheer white cliffs. All of a sudden, a rude lounger-rental-person loomed over me. "Thirty Euros" she growled. "How much?!" I said, taken aback. Thirty Euros for 4 loungers seems, to me at least, like an extortionate and bloated price for what is essentially an entry fee for the beach. Ultimately, while this beach is beautiful and boasts a particularly spectacular sunset, it is inaccessible, parking's a nightmare, prices are exorbitant and you can experience a similarly beautiful beach nearly anywhere else on the island.
  • Idilic beach. The landscape is amazing. The color of the water in absolutely amazing.
  • Cons: 1 The roads to get here are very narrow and hard to drive through. 2 The beach is full of pebbles and very uncomfortable even when swimming in the water-it is best to get some waterproof footwear 3 lounge-beds are quite expensive 4 the water is hard to see through (2 meters ar best underwater). Definitely not for snorkeling 5 I have been here twice and the waves are very strong Pros: the clear blue water with the white cliffs are very idyllic. From above and from the beach, the water looks really clear and clean I dont think this is the best beach in Lefkada.
  • Very beautiful. You could also get good delivered to beach.
