  • Nothing exceptional, is not the abyss of Padirac either. Made the site visit in early April, it will be certainly more difficult to appreciate the site during the summer period. The parking lot is tiny, free for our part in April, tour adult € 6 free for children. I guess really the Bazaar it must be summer. A bit disappointing for the time spent on the road to get there, fortunately the road offer the passage in many villages of the Crete

  • The climb to the cave for a long time, yes even in the Hill. You can on donkeys. The cave has not impressed. Descent into it very cool.

  • The walk up is well laid out and similar to walking up a long hill. It's hard to navigate as there are a few turns to get there but it's worth the trip. The cave is interesting and beautiful - this ad...  more »

  • Visited on a combined tour with Knossos, two of Crete's most popular attractions couldn't be more different. Zeus' birthplace is more natural but with the artificial coloured lights felt more touristy, but still well worth visiting. The fresh orange juice while waiting for the coach to depart was an added bonus.
  • The whole trip towards this cave is an experience itself (a car is needed). This place has some great views. The cave itself is a nice experience, but you will have experience it by yourself. It is worth the price (less then 10 euros).
  • Went here on part of a guided trip. Very steep walk up to the mouth of the cave. Not for those with breathing or heart problems, especially saying you're at a high altitude anyway with less oxygen. Take care when using steps inside the cave as condensation renders them slippy. Much more interesting if you know the mythology surrounding the cave.
  • Very expensive for what you have to see. Very beautiful but it takes only a few minutes to see everything. Totally not worth the price (6 €) considering it's from one hour by car to get there and there is absolutely nothing else interesting around.
  • We really enjoyed the car ride to the Lassithi plateau. We weren't sure what to expect when we got to Psychro. It seemed very touristic and fake. We had to pay 2 euro to park the car. Then we had to walk up the mountain 1 km. There were mules that will carry you up for 10 euro. We walked and it was beautiful. The entrance fee to the cave is 6 euro. The kids (14 and 16) were free! The cave is not very big but it is beautiful and cool inside. On the way back to the car we decided to have lunch at one of the restaurants. I can't remember the name, but is was the first one on the right side of the first parking lot. It has the best view of the plateau and it was surprisingly good and very cheap. The personnel was extremely friendly and we all got frozen yoghurt for free as a desert. We tipped big and the owner even gave us a present after that. We felt genuinly welcome there!
