  • In childhood was myths and legends of ancient Greece so gladly took the excursion "Lassithi plateau-the cave of Zeus-goncharka-Kera monastery". Dress warmer shoes should be comfortable type of sneakers, if foot problems-take a burro trip.

  • The cave at Psychro, even Zeus cave called, can be found on the Lassithi plateau. From the square of Europe arriving in 15 minutes along a path up to the cave entrance. That is too hard, which can be also with the donkey taxi for 10 euros upwards. For the cave, which is one of the most beautiful in Crete, to get the tickets directly at the entrance for 6 euros per person. The descent into the dark and damp cave via almost 200 steps. Come down he passes trail through this Minoan worship effectively illuminated stalactites and stalagmites. Supposedly, father of the gods Zeus in this cave was born and many archaeological finds prove its use as a sanctuary. Absolutely worth seeing and impressive.

  • What should you write to this sight... it keeps what it promises: A large cave, from the parking lot, which appears to be quite small it is necessary approximately 20 minutes of "Mountain climbing"; who do not defend themselves, ends up on a donkey :) The way is to create but commonly and for normal conditioned pedestrian.

  • Beautiful and atmospheric cave. The walk up is challenging. Take the easy paved route unless you are a hiker with proper shoes. The view from the cave entrance over the plateau is Amazing!
  • The cave of Zeus is beautiful, with stunning rock forms. The journey up to the cave is somwhat arduous but there are plenty of places to stop and look out across the stunning Plateau below you. There are 2 different paths, one is steeper but shorter, the routes do mean that nearly anyone could reach the Cave. The Cave itself is full of steps, literally a giant staircase, which is slippery in places so be careful and make sure that you have a decent pair of shoes on. Having said that even Toms or Flip Flops would be able to make it up and round with ease. Worth a visit and worth driving two different routes in and out!
  • A great cave visit and not too expensive (€6 each). Bear in mind there's a 15 minute walk up to the cave from the car park and it's quite steep and uneven terrain. You can get a donkey / mule ride up if you need to though. Great drive up there to the Lasithi Plateau as well and great views everywhere you look. Definitely worth a trip here if you're in Crete!
  • Absolutely stunning views from the top of the plateau, and the cave was really cool as well. I won't go into the history of the place, but look it up and check it out. The story makes it that much more interesting. A fellow traveller staying at our resort recommended this visit, and we're so glad he did. It made for a great day trip in from the coast.
  • Large cave, that doesn't go very deep. In order to get to the cave, walking up a mountain for 20-30 minutes is necessary. Most of the path is paved, but the last sections aren't, so you need to bring along proper shoes. At the end of the ascent is a ticket booth where you pay 6€ for the entry. The awe inspiring decent into the cave is made possible by some well built stairs with banisters to hold onto. The lights inside the cave give it a mysterious look, making this a must, if you're nearby, even if the entrance fee is a bit overpriced in my opinion.
