  • This beautiful and curious monastery, which in the past was also a fortress against the raids of Turkish pirates, may be visited and worshipped in the courtyard has the graves of some Abbots. It is overlooking the sea, at the beginning of the peninsula that leads in Afrata, and right underneath the walls there is the beach that the guides tell is deprived of the monks. However, a little further on, there is a vehicular access to the beach leading to a small beach with cliffs where bathing is a hoot. The monastery has the walls still signs of shots fired by Turkish ships, and sea walls embedded cannon balls. A visit very interesting

  • Beautiful place! The terrace view of the old village and the nearby town. The monastery of IX, rebuilt in the 13th century in the Museum of icons from the 14th century. Recommend.
