Food & Drink
Cretan Traditional Cooking Lessons will awaken your senses and introduce you to an important part of the traditional Cretan lifestyle. In small groups of no more than 10 people, you'll learn how to prepare a hearty meal with mandatory olive oil and aromatic herbs from the island. The owner, Eleni, and her family will show you their countryside home and take you through olive groves and vegetable gardens before you sit down around the dining table under hanging vines. Then you can taste the food you have prepared and chat with hosts and your “teammates,” while admiring the mountain views. • I highly recommend for those who are in Kissamos area, to have this experience: Eleni and her mother will show you how to prepare some delicious traditional Cretan cuisine, which will then be enjoyed in good company among the participants. In addition to preparing the dishes and eat them, Eleni will show you the farm, will tell you about some interesting facts about Crete and Greece, and will make you taste the wine that coaches. What I liked most was being able to meet people from other countries (we were with a couple from Sweden and one from Germany), which discuss about cooking and eating habits (food or otherwise) of their country! So. .. book!

  • Among the best I've done in holiday road. Traditional cuisine of Crete is taught by a really nice host. You learn what makes the local food so good, dear out lots about the culture and have things to do at a reasonable interval. Properly measured, of really good food consisting of several starters, main dishes and dessert were also. If you can go absolutely there or be downloaded at your hotel free of charge. Highly recommended.

Where to stay in Kissamos

Stay close to Crete's sandy beaches by booking a room at a seafront hotel in Kissamos. Although pricey, rooms with sea views fill up early in the season, so if you arrive late or without reservations, look for one of the area's family-run guesthouses. If you need more space and privacy for the entire family, consider the town's self-catering apartments, which provide air-conditioned bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the premises.
