Kalamaki Beach, Kalamaki
Categories: Beaches, Nature & Parks, Outdoor Activities
A hidden gem of the Ionian Islands, Kalamaki Beach offers you a chance to practice your canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing skills in relative peace. Despite its proximity to the busy resort town of Kalamaki, the beach remains relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists and maintains its relaxed island atmosphere. A nesting ground for the endangered loggerhead sea turtles, the beach is a key part of a national marine park. In order to protect the turtles, which you can often spot in the shallow water near the sand, local law prohibits water skiing and swimming after dark. Rent a pedal boat and spend a day exploring this protected stretch of the coastline. Our Kalamaki holiday planner makes visiting Kalamaki Beach and other Kalamaki attractions simple, and helps you make a travel plan personal to you.
