Kalamaki Beach, Kalamaki

4.3
Must see · Beach · Nature / Park
A hidden gem of the Ionian Islands, Kalamaki Beach offers you a chance to practice your canoeing, kayaking, and windsurfing skills in relative peace. Despite its proximity to the busy resort town of Kalamaki, the beach remains relatively undiscovered by foreign tourists and maintains its relaxed island atmosphere. A nesting ground for the endangered loggerhead sea turtles, the beach is a key part of a national marine park. In order to protect the turtles, which you can often spot in the shallow water near the sand, local law prohibits water skiing and swimming after dark. Rent a pedal boat and spend a day exploring this protected stretch of the coastline. Planning Kalamaki trip won't be overwhelming when you use Inspirock's itinerary maker.

  • Very nice beach. But, when windy, there is too much sand.
  • Its ok. Very basic but nice .
  • i will learn how to swim and when i do you wont be able to stop me i will swim so far so fast that i will break the sound barrier do not test me when i go for a dip down here because your precious swimming legs will be mine and i will use them to swim to the center of the earth
  • Big, wide beach. Only narrower in places. It's going on quite a bit. There are a lot of turtle nests on the beach in season, so there is less space. Sunbeds, umbrellas available on the beach, prices from 5 euros. The water has beautiful colors. Airplanes fly over the beach, which is an additional attraction.
  • Nice beach with bed and umbrella rental. Lots of turtle nests on beach. Spotted a young turtle there. Parked at crystal beach hotel. Not crowded and soft drink beer and fruit for sale at small stall. You can also eat in the hotel.
