3.2/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web
According to legend, Cave Of Zeus is one of two possible locations where Zeus, Greek god of sky and thunder, was born. High up on Mount Dicte, the system of caves have a single entrance, which you can reach via a long trek to the top or driving the winding roads up. Inside, admire the large stalactites and stalagmites that have formed over hundreds of years. The antechamber contains the crumbled foundations of an altar and evidence of offerings that were burnt at the altar and destined for the gods. Explore the five chambers, especially the small chamber behind a lake where Zeus was supposedly born. Cave Of Zeus is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Hersonissos Edition.

  • After an approximately 20-minute ascent the descent into the cool cave can be started after payment of € 6 where Zeus was born and spent his youth. The cave is interesting. The visit should be terminated with a visit to the tavern with super views to be strengthened for the descent. Fresh fruit juice and E.g. Frappé are strongly recommended.

  • It's a cave. There are goats in the mountain but nothing else. The view is beautiful anyway. Once you have to check it. I think it's a good program but it's far away from everything.
  • Decided to visit this attraction, drove by car along the road very beautiful species, perhaps, for the sake of this worthwhile trip, came to the place to gorge on foot from the foot of the mountain up approximately kilometre leg then 2 days reminded about this ascent. The cave itself about anything, you go down the stairs, then go upstairs, just money down the drain
