  • Is a temple but not Church! Is conjectural room and is not! Gallery and is not! Nice building and Venetian are ... as a general premise, but what it lacks is the/people from the State who will assess it properly and take advantage of its unique features. Currently is Bate dogs and grind ... There are done everything: various and indifferent concerts, various and indifferent reports, different and irrelevant speeches etc. In the absence of the cultural centre "little shop" is available in every mortal (almost)! Otherwise to prevent the injustice like historic site: is wonderful and unique to the city, a little more care and maintenance needs of course.

  • It is a very good sample of a basilica built at the time of Venition occupation in Crete. It often hosts very good art exhibitions. It is hard to miss as it is located at the very center of the town.
  • The Basilica of San Marco is one of the most important Venetian buildings – monuments in Heraklion. The Basilica of San Marco is situated opposite the fountain with Lions, El. Venizelou square in the Centre of Heraklion. Today it houses the municipal art gallery of the city and is open to the public every day almost the whole day.
