4.7/5 based on 750+ reviews on the web
Explore the natural world on the isle of Crete at Botanical Park & Gardens Of Crete, where ornamental plants and fruit trees flourish alongside local flora. The dry air and bright sun provide a climate for many varieties of growth, and trails break through the greenery and weave under citrus trees and flowering plants. Events in the open-air amphitheater include concerts, tastings, folk music, and dancing. A small fee grants you access to the oasis of fruit-bearing trees and multi-colored flowers, but you can visit the on-site restaurant without a ticket to the gardens. Botanical Park & Gardens Of Crete is just one of the many highlights you can arrange to see using our online itinerary creator, Fournes Edition.

  • Highly recommend these gardens if you like walking.. Many hundred of trees full of fruit.. 6 euro for the entrance along with a bottle of water.. The walk is around 1.75 miles in total which we did in...  read more »

  • I am not really a plant person but this is quite worth it. The density of plant types is impressive at the beginning. Worth to mention that the self-guided tour costs 6€ per adult and includes a bottle of water. It's probably better to do it on a not-so-hot day.
  • As most have said..well worth the trip out ..bus goes from main bus station at 9 am....get there 845 for ticket ...picks up along the way sometimes so may take one hour to get there ...€6 entrance includes a well needed bottle of water...take it slow as you will have plenty of time ...bit hilly near the end if you chose the slightly longer route via the mini zoo and lake but well with the effort if you are medium fit...the reward is excellent food in the restaurant at reasonable prices..great friendly staff ...the return bus leaves at 230 from the top of the road ....and our one returned via a different route through hill top villages...a bonus....back in Chania around 330... One of the nicest days I have had in my 60 years on planet earth ....if you love fauna and fruit and trees from around the world and have €15 per person for a great lunch then this will suit you...I recommend the homeMade lemonade with mint ....wonderful .
  • Nice idea, but don't aspect to much, very dried garden. The garden is not well cured, nothing to do with a Spain botanical garden or with a German one.
  • A well organised park. Plenty of shady areas so great for a walk on a hot day.
  • Amazing. We spent more than 3 hours on the terraces. Nice taverna.
