  • You can get there by car going towards the right side of falassarna, after a couple of kilometres from the last resort so easy to get to. Pity that the site is not maintained, the last time I went there was no watchman and a couple of tourists dug for cigare via delle pietre worked as a souvenir. The town's history is interesting, once had the sea port but an earthquake has lifted the entire area (some areas of Crete were raised by 9 meters) and before that the Romans destroyed the city because he suspected of being a haven for pirates. There is a splendid example of ancient cities such as Minoan, in many places the excavations were interrupted, some reconstructions are coarse and as I said there are virtually no controls and no part fenced off so the free movement of tourists causes continuously of little slumps (though then are just some little wall just sketched) worth going there after a day at the beach for an hour the times don't know them, they change depending on the season, so better check before. If you go with kids keep an eye on because there are several points that can be dangerous. Recommend you see the part that was the port, very striking and surreal seeing her now so far away from the sea!

  • Unfortunately for the winter season, apparently, all closed. Since we were in November, the unearthed sites were inaccessible behind the fence. However, if you climb on a footpath over the chapel in the cleft between the rocks, you can detect the characteristic stepped base of an ancient temple. During lifting also come across the remnants of the powerful walls. Closer to the sea from the excavation of too many interesting things, huge stones, apparently, moorings, carved into the rocks of the whole House for one or two rooms with steps and doorways. The road just under the olive trees is worth something like the throne of sandstone, on the other side you can see the bottom part of the stone sarcophagus.

  • You can reach on foot because it's very easy and nice walk ..... The General is not always open because they keep the place because they have discovered new findings ... It is worth going to see
