Delphi contain the remains of sanctuaries dedicated to the cults of Apollo and Athena, as well as several other structures presumably built for sports. Providing a glimpse into the ancient world's religious beliefs, these ruins joined the list of World Heritage sites in 1987. Tradition says Zeus determined this location as the center of Gaia, the great mother of all in Greek mythology. Apollo's sanctuary, built here in the 4th century BCE, served as the cultural and religious center of ancient Greece for many centuries. The sanctuary famously housed Apollo's oracle, a priestess capable of making prophesies by channeling the god's spirit. Stunning to see this ancient temple complex. Over 2500 years old and in surprisingly good condition when your consider the earthquakes and pillagers this place has had to contend with.

Wonderful historical site of Delphi, you could spend a day easy wandering this site. But allow a minimum of about 90 minutes to safely climb the hillside to the top and come back down amongst the site and the history. The famed Delphi oracle sat in the temple of Apollo in the centre of the complex.

A lovely place, full of history. During peak summer times it was not excessively hot, the sea is quite close by car. A great place, with a lot of options for food and entertainment around.

No need to write anything. Worth the trip from Athens. Take a guide you will get so much more out of the visit.

Very well preserved ancient artifacts. Glad to have been able to see this and visit the museum. It's actually a cool and unique little town.
