  • Not Cleopatra VII, the famous Greek queen, last pharaoh of Egypt. In 1906 French archaeologists found the headless statues of the owners of this house, Dioskourides and his wife Cleopatra, a couple from Athens; they were erected in 138 BC by Cleopatra after the death of her husband; Cleopatra is a Greek name meaning "glory of her father". Worth seing.

For sure, their looks needed to be renewed every few years, accordingly to the owners looks. Not the whole statue would be renovated, but just a head of it.
