Mount Pantokrator, Corfu

4.5
#2 of 8 in Nature in Corfu
Capture magnificent views of the surrounding islands from the top of Mount Pantokrator, the highest point on the island. Visit the monastery located at the summit, walk around the courtyard, and stop for refreshments at the nearby cafe. Be on the lookout for owls hopping around on the rocks at the summit. Walk or drive up the winding road leading to the peak, but avoid the journey if you have a fear of heights, as the drive up is steep with mountain drops down the side. Parking is available at the summit for your convenience. Be sure to remember your sunscreen, as the sun can be strong at this elevation. • Were in Greece. and long ago decided for myself to get acquainted with the country/city, we need 3 things: 1. walks on the scheme-go where lead legs, where we want to minimize, rather than where it should be)-so we can see not only pictures, so we cover the real picture of the city. 2. visit local cafes/restaurants-local food 3. look at the top allows you to feel the form your opinion on place specific features acquires here. with the third item we did not, and that upset me greatly. All jekrskursii have been bought up in dassia, they were not, and in other cities where we stayed. or days not covered, or not. the ride itself-without proper preparation in Hill it was so-so idea, go Peck a. .. then again. .. were not ready to ... all remained quietly cry. handkerchief. BUT! Good luck, and this magical island performed my dreams!. one evening, the day before departure, we randomly decided to walk to a neighbouring village. Go, breathe in the aroma of baking, we carry the salty sea breeze and ...

  • If relaxing on Corfu, you took a car, there are at least three reasons to visit the pantocrator. Firstly, get a thrill from driving on mountain serpentine (drove through Maps.Me Yes and pointers are present. In narrow places installed reverse traffic lights-don't ignore). Secondly, on the road in several places there are belvederes with beautiful views, to make a picture. Oh, and finally, at the top of the monastery, repose for the soul! As I understand, this does not carry the excursions and tourists-singles a little, so communication with God no one hurt. In the monastery there is a shop where you can buy the appropriate attributes, and Café near the monastery.

  • Beautiful view of the sea and Albania. It is worth spending time here. It is best to arrive early in the morning to get to the top.
  • Highest point in Corfu and the views are stunning. Interesting drive up to it as well. Cannot quite believe why they put a bright red super tall mast right in middle of the monastery grounds. Shame as it's a bit of a blot. Otherwise it's a totally great place to go for a full view of the island. Hold onto your hats going up.
  • Traveled from Saint George in the southern part of Corfu! Always seen this mountain from Corfu town and thought that looks good! So hired a quad bike and hit the road! Definitely worth the 1 hour accent to the top and so amazing views.
  • Fantastic view and great trip to get there. On the summit you can have a coffee and enjoy Corfu from all directions
  • As for me, absolutely no 1 throughout the island. It is best to get to the top of the rental car. Unforgettable views of the entire island, and Albania.
