  • The obstruction of this "designer" in Italian, is the main square in town and is located on the eastern side, across the beach and Canal that separates between her and the old Citadel. Spianda long from North to South is about 560 meters wide at the maximum in the Centre to 200 m. The square occupies one third of the territory of the old city. Instead, his neighbor in the city's first established outside the old fortress at the beginning of the 16th century they were demolished to improve the protection of the Fort. The square was used as a market and as an extension and during Napoleon planted her trees. She gets the current character in the 19th century, and is divided into two parts. The northern part is putting along the Western side of the portico known as Liston. The building was constructed between the years 1804-1814 inspired Rivoli in Paris. This part of the square is intended also for cricket, a popular sport in the city since British rule, but part of it was transformed into a parking lot. The southern part of the square is shaped as trees, and walkways between neoclassical Rotunda and statuary of Ioannis Kapodistrias, Count Johann von der Schulenburg, and British Commissioners. Northwest of Michael Palace Square and the sacred giorgius, built between the years 1818-1823 and served as the official residence of the British High Commissioner. After British rule came to an end, the Palace became the official residence of the King of Greece, and he currently serves as the Asian Art Museum. An impressive area of bmio beauty and vibrant, where his visit more impressive at night when the lights we do the square and surroundings.

  • Ago the old fort at the tip of the island of Corfu. I'd do good breaks, park-like square, clean bench, so to say.
