  • A visit if you are good Walker in the rock garden railways and provide good shoes and protect themselves from the Sun. very tiring for not much, monument to the closed entrance and in the cave too. beautiful landscape and in the background after 40 minutes of walking a small chapel in ruins and! We must all go back...

  • My personal advice to descend in the Gorge and look at the chapel with the hand, there wives natknjotes pirates cave, where they hid their treasures. Look for stones-there will be a point of pointing the way. Only that-with children in the Valley generally do not recommend-descent complex for children

  • Greek Orthodox Monastery dated to 1537. A venetian style Fortress with some baroque influences. About 5 kilometers north of Agia Triada. If you are there don't forget to visit the Katholiko Monastery ...  more »

  • The priests have closed the road to the Gouverneto gorge, and they're forcing everyone to cross through the monastery if they want to descend into the gorge. They open their doors at 9am, and they have a long list of strict rules for visitors and hikers. No dogs, "decent" clothing, no food, no swimming at the end of the gorge, blah, blah... I am disgusted with them. They are acting like fanatical Iran priests. And restricting the hiking activities to the Gouverneto gorge? Shame on them.
  • As of now (May 2015) the monastery is under renovation, so you'll see nothing more than the garden. Bear also in mind that the famous path to the sea behind the monastery is said to be closed (there is a notice), but everybody seems to walk it nonetheless.
  • Very nice monastery, nice and quiet. Nice museum with their silverware. Garden well maintained with many different plants. Fragrant citrus trees.

  • Why the peace that I have heard in some monasteries, or the vibrant understanding of all the senses, are only a shadow of light

  • Very nice and interesting if you arrive too early you go to other monasteries and come back later
